Seated Fairy in Brunette and Pink

This one was painted as a Pay it Forward for a friend. I used colors from her blog as inspiration for the piece.

Yankee Monkey

I'd started out using this as a place to put my crafts to sell, but there's been no interest so I'm just going to use this as a spot to put all my crafts. I've had my computer redone a few times since I started blogging, though, and now I'm having to dig around to find everything I've done. Needless to say, this is going to take awhile. As I find them, I plan on getting them posted.

This monkey was done as a gift for a dear friend (who has since gone *poof* a second time so I'm questioning really how good a friend she really is). Anyhow, she's a die hard Yankees fan so I free handed the logo the best as I could on there. I'm quite happy with the results.

As always, the piece was painted in acrylics, had a felt base glued ( to prevent scratching any surface it's put on) and then finished with a matte spray to seal the color on.

Seated Fairy in Red

This fairy was done shortly after the Butterfly fairy one and was painted with the intention of it being a companion piece. In fact everytime I paint one, I usually paint the other right after if not at the same time. Again the piece is painted with acrylic paints and sprayed with a matte finishing spray. The red dress is more of a really hot pink in color. There is felt glued to the base to prevent it from scratching furniture. The sheen on her was accomplished by putting a gold wash over the entire piece. She measures 8"h X 6"w X 5.5"d.

Butterfly Fairy in Red

This piece was painted in 2004 or so. The red is more like a very , very hot pink in color. My camera just doesnt seem to catch the color as the eye would see it. It took me a week to paint her.
This fairy is a nice sized piece measuring in at
9.5"h X 6.5"w X 5.25"d.

All my pieces are plaster with an acrylic paint and a clear matte spray finish. Although they have a protective coat I dont recommend outside use to them as Im not entirely certain as to how well the spray coat will protect them. If they were places in well sheltered areas I think they'd look nice on a porch. They are great for inside decor, however and this particular piece would look good in a little girl's room. I have one like this and one in it's companion piece sitting in my livingroom with my fairy porcelain dolls. All pieces have felt glued to the bottom to prevent scratches on furniture.
